Following the 2006 McClelland Review of Public Sector Procurement in Scotland, CGCoPE was set up to work with Central Government organisations to identify opportunities where collaboration can deliver improved procurement of goods and services.
In April 2008, CGCoPE developed a detailed three year work plan that focused on areas of high opportunity. Several new framework argreements have already been established and others are in development. Once awarded, a framework agreement is typically in place for three to four years and is reviewed at least one year before it expires.
