On 16 June, over 150 procurement professionals from across the public sector descended on Hampden Park for the 'Nurturing the Talent to Deliver Procurement Reform' conference. The event offered delegates the chance to learn new skills, access tools and share best practice to help them do their job more effectively.
A Risk Management workshop, delivered by Naomi Pathirana and Mhairi Chalk from CGCoPE's Procurement Development Team, proved to be a interesting part of the programme. The interactive workshop showed delegates various tools and processes that could help them to identify and manage risk in the supply chain. They were then asked to put the theory into practice by working through real-life examples.
Presenter Mhairi Chalk said:
"Managing risk is an important, although not always consistent, part of the procurement process. We hope that our ongoing work in this area will increase awareness and equip people with simple tools to mitigate risk."
The duo have produced a useful pack which you can download.
