Following a highly successful collaboration involving CGCoPE, the Scottish Court Service, the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service and the Scottish Legal Aid Board, a new Interpreting, Translation and Transcription services Framework Contract has been awarded. The procurement exercise was completed on schedule against challenging timescales. This positive outcome is testament to the high level of engagement demonstrated by those involved.
The collaborative Framework Contract will start on 13 July 2009. The core contract period will be 3 years with the option of extending for one further 12 month period.
The contractors appointed to the Framework are as follows :
First Ranked: Global Languages Services Ltd
Second Ranked: Global Connections (Scotland) Ltd
Both companies are Scottish Small to Medium Enterprises (SME's).
The Framework covers comprehensive spoken language interpreting services, and the transcription and translation from written documentation or electronic media into word documents. This will fulfil the current and evolving needs of our Collaborative Partners.
The contract is available to the Scottish Government, its Agencies, Associated Departments and Non-Departmental Public Bodies, Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body, the Forestry Commission, the Sea Fish Industry Authority, the Student Loans Company and the Scotland Office.
