The Central Government Centre of Procurement Expertise (CGCoPE) is one of five Centres of Procurement Expertise, set up in response to the McClelland Review of Public Procurement in Scotland (2006). The review recommended the establishment of sectoral Centres of Procurement Expertise to help develop and facilitate best practice procurement of goods and services.
CGCoPE serves the central government family which is made up of the Scottish Government and its Agencies, Non-Departmental Public Bodies (NDPBs), Tribunals and Public Corporations.
We have a central team of professional purchasers, working within the Scottish Procurement Directorate of The Scottish Government. The central team is supported by procurement professionals working in organisations across central government. Together, we are pioneering Best Practice and changes in the way that central government procures good and services.
